Newark Celebration 350

Led all marketing and PR campaigns for the 2016 year-long jubilee of citywide events commemorating the 350th anniversary of the founding of the City of Newark.


• Founders Weekend Festival with Faith Evans, Naughty by Nature, Robert Glasper Experiment, India, local Newark artists and over 30 community and corporate sponsor activations. The campaign resulted in 72 million media impressions and 3.2 million overall social media impressions.


• Collaborated with over 50 institutions, community groups, sponsors Prudential, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, PSE&G and programmers including NJPAC, City of Newark Mayor’s office, Newark Museum, etc. in co-branding and promotion of events.


• Developed all marketing and brand assets: new logo, website, brand manual, social media, video content, newsletter, brochures, programs, merchandise, and other marketing collateral. 

• Built brand audience on the website, newsletter subscriber base, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to date 200k touchpoints across all platforms.


• Managed a six-figure marketing budget that included the hiring and management of teams, vendors, and staff.


• Executed media ad buys with Cablevision, Comcast, News 12, PBS-NJ TV, WBGO, WBLS and Hot 97, NJ Advance Media & the Star-Ledger, Billups billboards, Newark Bound, Radius, Positive Community and produced TV commercials and radio spots.


• Garnered press on local and national outlets from NJ.com, News 12, the Star-Ledger, WBGO radio to the New York Times, AP, NBC’s Cozi TV, NJ hyperlocal blogs, etc.


• Spearheaded social media, PR, and marketing campaign for city’s first Giving Day, an online fundraising campaign for the city’s legacy gifts that has raised over $200k to date.
